Having shot numerous weddings at Drenagh House Estate, I thought it would be useful to put together a blog post, to show you why Drenagh House is one of my all time favourite wedding venues and one that you should be putting at the top of your wedding venue list.
Drenagh House is a grand 19th-century Georgian mansion house situated near Limavady in Northern Ireland. Situated in 1000 acres of parkland, your guests will be wowed as they drive up the tree lined driveway to arrive at this extraordinary venue. With its stunning architecture, expressive decor and magnificent features, they will clearly see why it is one of Northern Irelands top wedding venues. One of the biggest advantages of the venue is that on your wedding day, Drenagh House is private and exclusively yours. No-one else will be on site, only you and your guests!
In addition to the stunning interior of the mansion house, which is fabulous for photo opportunities should it rain on your wedding day. Drenagh House also has a number of other features which will make your day stand out, these include the Moon Garden and Walled Garden.
Bridal Suite & Accommodation
Your wedding day will get off to a perfect start in the elegantly decorated bridal suite at Drenagh Estate, which offers a 4 poster bed, an en suite with free standing bath and picturesque views of the grounds. Individually styled and effortlessly elegant, the room is the perfect setting for your getting ready shots. The high ceilings and large windows create the most beautiful natural light for your photos, honestly the room is a photographers dream!
The other luxury bedrooms located within the main house at Drenagh Estate feature modern comfort with the opulence of a Georgian Mansion House. With 16 guests in 8 rooms, all with their own bathrooms, the luxury accommodation is the perfect way to end the perfect day.
The Moon Garden at Drenagh Estate has to be one of the most romantic and intimate places to exchange your wedding vows outdoors. With seating comfortably for up to 140 guests, brides and grooms have the opportunity to make the Moon Garden their own by adding fairy-lights, candles, flowers and drapes. Your wedding guests wont have witnessed somewhere as unique as the Moon Garden before, its a real show stopper!
Georgian House Ceremony
Inside Drenagh House there are more alternative and unique settings to exchange vows. Ceremonies can be set up within the Main Hall with the grand staircase being the perfect backdrop to say, “I do”. Alternately the Morning Room can be set up for your ceremony ensuring picturesque views of the Drenagh Estate grounds.
Drenagh Drinks Reception & Garden Games
After witnessing you exchange your vows, your guests will have the opportunity to celebrate with you both during your drinks reception at the main house and gardens. The gardens offer the perfect setting to sip an afternoon garden punch and enjoy games such as badminton, giant jenga or perhaps a spot of croquet.
