Looking for your dream wedding venue in the West of Ireland, then this one is for you! The Old Rectory, Killyman is another of my all time favourite wedding venues in Northern Ireland. It is a private venue nestled in Co Tyrone in the quaint village of Killyman. Not only is The Old Rectory idyllic in its setting but its owners Paul and Emma (and not forgetting Leah, the Irish wolfhound), are some of the nicest people I have met in the wedding industry. I would honestly book this venue purely on their kind hospitality alone but there is also lots more to love about The Old Rectroy, Killyman!
Exclusivity
The Old Rectory is an idyllic, one-of-a-kind destination that offers splendid seclusion alongside complete exclusivity. Unlike a hotel, or traditional wedding venue, you’re free to do things your way. The difference between non-exclusive and exclusive may not appear to be a big deal but having sole exclusivity of a wedding venue, the grounds and the staff makes for an extra special day. It means that you’re not going to bump into anyone on the day that isnt a guest as your wedding.
THE GARDENS
Having grown and developed over many years, The Old Rectory reaps the rewards of years of unspoiled maturity and growth. Despite its convenient location, centuries old trees envelope the 13acre estate thus creating a sense of splendid seclusion and escapism. The garden to the rear of the The Old Rectory offers the perfect spot to exchange your vows. I cannot emphasis just how much more relaxed and enjoyable your wedding day is, when you wedding ceremony and reception are all at the one venue. If you’re going to pick one venue to host your full wedding day, then The Old Rectory has it all with its beautiful gardens, lovingly restored stone barn, the grand pavilion and picturesque grounds.
The Barn & Teepee
After exchanging your vows either on site or at a location near by, you and your guests will then get to enjoy your drinks reception in the walled garden, where the Old Barn and Teepee sit. The Old Barn has been lovingly restored with its beautiful stone walls and vaulted ceiling it is full of rustic charm. Should the sunshine appear your guests also have option to enjoy a seasonal drink and listen to music under the festoon lights and canopy of the teepee.
The Grounds
Whilst the guests enjoy their champagne drinks reception and some garden games on the lawn, I like to whisk my couples, their bridal party and families away for some portraits. Having shot numerous weddings at The Old Rectory, I can confirm that the grounds are a feast for all seasons. Whether you dream of a wedding with opulence and holiday sparkle in a Winter then the fairy lite trees are for you or pops of colour and blooms in Summer, the overflowing hedgerows are the perfect back drops for your photos.
Your Guests
Believe me when I say your guests will be just as charmed as you with all the Old Rectory, Killyman has to offer. They can relax in the Old Barn or even enjoy a game of Pitch and Putt in the Putt Putt green, garden games on the lawn, take a dander through the maze or pay a visit to the quaint summerhouse. They can also end the night on a high with with toasted marshmallows around the fire pits!
The Grand Pavilion
Following on from your drinks reception, all your guests will be invited to the Grand Pavilion, where the celebrations will continue with dinner and dancing. The Grand Pavilion sits in pride of place in the manicured gardens and is beautifully draped in satin with large twinkling chandeliers. There is also a large decking area which overlooks the fairy lite trees which adds to the sparkles of an already glamorous setting.
With a variety of stunning spaces the Old Rectory offers exclusivity alongside exceptional service. I can guarantee if you host your wedding day, at the Old Rectory, Killyman it will be a remarkable and memorable occasion for you, your family and your guests.
